Additional Syndromes

There are additional syndromes which affect smaller percentages of the population. William's Syndrome, for example, is estimated to occur in 1 out of 8,000 individuals, Rett Syndrome is 1:10,000, CHARGE Syndrome is 1:10,000, Prader-Willi is 1:12,000, Angelman is 1:15,000, Smith-Magenis is 1:25,000, Cri du Chat Syndrome is 1:35,000, Shaken Baby Syndrome has a reported 1,400 cases each year, and Reye's syndrome is reported in about 70 individuals each year. Information about these and other chromosomal or genetic issues will be discussed in further detail in this section.
